From woods to coast to mountains, Active Learning Centres are dedicated to helping young people develop essential skills and character, and to promote wellbeing through outdoor learning. With Earth Day happening this weekend we thought it’s important to also lend our voice to bring awareness to this years theme ‘Invest in our Planet’ and how we intend to continue to invest in the future of our planet.

We continuously make a point throughout our multi activity residentials and field trips to discuss the impact we have on nature and in turn how it can impact us. We focus on outdoor education and reconnecting ourselves with what our surroundings can provide. By working in harmony with our environments we encourage a view that includes sustainability and conservation, the outdoors is our workplace, we want all participants to respect and enjoy it.

Part of that enjoyment comes from giving to help a cause or others which creates more compassionate and grateful communities and generates positive emotions for the giver as well as the receiver – from conservations efforts in the UK woodlands, to understanding the effects of tourism in our National Parks – we aim to make a positive impact through our ventures.

When you attend any type of school residential with us at Active Learning Centres, we ensure that giving time and space to enjoy nature is a key part of the experience, and in many cases our skilled facilitators go beyond, by creating a sense of awe in what we have to offer in each of our stunning locations.

Each individual can make a difference to the planet’s health and the more we become conscious of the consequences of our actions but also the benefit we can all help continue to improve the Earth.
