As part of the Active Learning Group, Cuffley Camp provides outdoor learning experiences for children aged 4 – 18, across a wide range of fun, educational and hands-on school trips. Curriculum Support
Based in Hertfordshire and only 10 minutes from the M25, Cuffley is nestled within 96 acres of ancient woodland and ideally situated to offer a contrasting environment for schools. We welcome the opportunity to work alongside you and your team to design a trip for your students to make the most of the woods and classrooms at Cuffley for you to teach your subject and curriculum.
From finding art in nature to outdoor maths and practical skills for GCSE Geography or Biology, we can offer superbly equipped classrooms to complement the woodland that stimulates and provides inspiration. What better place to bring your students to develop creative writing skills?

Summer Residentials
At Cuffley Activity Learning Centre we offer a range of activities that stretch bodies and minds to build confidence. Our residential trips range from two to five days and with itineraries tailored to the age, experience and abilities of your students, there’s enough to keep them busy! Climbing walls and high ropes give the adrenaline buzz, with more reflective activities taking place deep inside our unique woodland Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

Why we do what we do
By using the Skills Builder Essential Skills Framework we will tailor the activities to focus on selected Essential Skills for each course. Prior to school trips, we liaise with teachers to identify the learning objectives and to discuss reviews following each activity to ensure we maximise growth amongst students.
We believe that developing character is important to a child’s development and helps with academic success as well as stimulating a global perspective. Our skilled instructors will guide students through the activities, helping them to take ownership of each task. We let students explore their own boundaries while offering support and guidance.
It has been proven that getting into the Great Outdoors can help to heal, soothe and restore physical and mental wellbeing. We use each of our unique locations (woods, coast and mountains) to offer new physical challenges, while highlighting the benefits of their stunning natural surroundings.

Active Learning Residentials
At Cuffley, Hertfordshire we offer two to five day residentials to suit every age group. With superb accommodation and a dedicated kitchen providing an excellent range of freshly cooked meals that can cater for all dietary needs. We believe that the whole experience is what makes your stay memorable.

What's on the menu?
We recognise that food is a key part of any residential and our catering team prepares fresh, wholesome meals daily. Fruit and vegetables are served with each meal to ensure a healthy and balanced diet for all our guests.
At Cuffley we have four individual dining areas which provide different eating experiences – both indoors and outdoors – during your stay, these include: The Refectory, where you’ll get counter service and a choice of freshly prepared meals such as wraps; Pizza Palace, where you’ll dig in to wood fired pizzas with wood that was naturally felled in the woodlands; Woodland Kitchen, where a pasta bar will keep you full and satisfied for the days’ activities; and the BBQ Kitchen, where you’ll get to enjoy burgers (including veggie burgers) cooked on an open flame in the great outdoors.
