As an Outdoor Instructor at Cuffley Active Learning Centre you will be inspiring young minds in their adventure, taking them through such activities as climbing, archery, low ropes, high ropes and problem solving.
Responsibilities:
- Leading/instructing multi-activities
- Briefing participants about safety and logistics
- Facilitating our core outcomes in the areas of Essential Skills, Character and Wellbeing
- Providing high levels of customer service
General Assistant - Cuffley General Assistant - Cuffley
If you fancy an adventure or like the thought of working in the outdoors, then Cuffley is the place to be this year. You will be at the heart of the operation on site, being within our most dynamic role onsite and helping across all departments.
Other responsibilities
- Ensuring group belongings make it to campsite in a timely manor
- Adapting to assist with any teacher requests
- Maintaining and logging campsite stores ensuring these are always in top condition
- Providing high levels of customer service
Apprentice Outdoor Instructor - Cuffley Apprentice Outdoor Instructor - Cuffley
If you fancy an adventure or like that thought of working in the outdoors, then an apprenticeship Cuffley is the place to be this year. This is a 13-month apprenticeship aimed enthusiastic, motivated people with a desire to start a career in the vibrant and rewarding outdoor learning sector. You will be starting your role as an assistant instructor – and after a comprehensive training programme and development period you will gain the knowledge, experience and qualifications required to become an independent instructor leading your own groups.
Desirable skills and qualifications:
- Experience working in an outdoor environment
- Membership of outdoor group (e.g. Scouts, DofE)
- First Aid experience
Outdoor Instructor - Sealyham Outdoor Instructor - Sealyham
As an Outdoor Instructor at Sealyham ALC, you will be inspiring young minds in their adventure, taking them through such activities as canoeing, coasteering, climbing, kayaking, archery, low ropes, high ropes and problem solving. Successful candidates will undertake a comprehensive training programme to enable them to deliver these activities, and more, in a safe and fun way.
This role requires enthusiasm, passion, energy, and a desire to lead by example. You will be a role model for our young people, ensuring they leave us with positive memories that will last them a lifetime.
Other responsibilities:
- Leading/instructing multi-activities
- Briefing participants in matters of safety
- Facilitating our core program in the areas of Essential Skills, Character and Wellbeing
- Providing high levels of customer service
Seasonal Outdoor Instructor - Sealyham Seasonal Outdoor Instructor - Sealyham
This role is a full time fixed term Seasonal contract period between March – October 2024 with flexible start and end dates. As an Outdoor Instructor at Sealyham ALC, you will be inspiring young minds in their adventure, taking them through such activities as canoeing, coasteering, climbing, kayaking, archery, low ropes, high ropes and problem solving. Successful candidates will undertake a comprehensive training programme to enable them to deliver these activities, and more, in a safe and fun way.
This role requires enthusiasm, passion, energy, and a desire to lead by example.

Centre Assistant - The Towers Centre Assistant - The Towers
This role requires enthusiasm, passion, energy, and a willingness to learn. We are looking for individuals that want to join us in driving The Towers forward, make it an incredible and positive place to work and ensure our groups leave with great memories that will last them a lifetime.
You will learn all areas of the centre’s operations and work with some great staff that will help you learn about centre life. You will have the opportunity to be mentored in the delivery of outdoor learning using adventure activities as the vehicle for learning as well as having the opportunity to lead your own groups when suitable.
Other responsibilities:
- Facilitating our core program in the areas of Essential Skills, Character and Wellbeing
- Oversee the arrival and departures of groups and liaising with visiting staff members
- Work with our instructors on a range of adventurous activities
- Contribute to the day to day operations of the centre
